Imagine a tranquil cove surrounded by a lush tropical forest. On all sides exotic birds and animals go about their daily activities. Anchored in the middle of the cove is a rustic two story wooden house. It is here where you will relax and enjoy a true paradise on earth. You can pass the days swinging in a hammock reading a good book, or jump in the clear waters to cool off. Maybe you would prefer to get some exercise while kayaking up a nearby river that winds deeper into the woods. The early morning and late afternoon is the best time of day to catch a cooler full of peacock bass or if you are lucky something bigger. Not far away cool waters cascade down moss covered rocks into basins that create natural swimming pools. If this is your idea of the perfect vacation we have the place for you. About the lodge:Nearly 100 years ago a valley was flooded to form an aquatic bridge that allows ships to cross the Isthmus of Panama, and it is here that we call home. Our floating lodge is nestled almost in the center of the Isthmus. On board we have all the amenities to make your stay both comfortable and enjoyable. Each room has a plush queen size bed and adequate ventilation. At the foot of the bed a screened wall is all that separates you from the jungle draped shore nearby. If you like the sound of traffic, we advise you to stay in the city. The calling of birds and howler monkeys is all that we can offer, and at night a chorus of frogs and crickets. A fully equipped kitchen prepares three tasty meals a day. We hope you don’t like crowds because our max capacity is 16 guests in 8 staterooms. Activities to Enjoy:During the day you can take part in numerous activities such as, fishing, swimming, kayaking, and hiking. For the more brave at heart we can even venture out on night excursions in search of crocodiles, bats, and other things that go bump in the night. Other expeditions are offered to native Indian communities, national parks, the Panama Canal, and historical sites, all of which lie within this famous river valley. It is impossible for you to experience it all in one day. We suggest that you take a break from the rat race and come unwind in a very special place on mother earth.
